Making people and planet healthier, one back at a time.

There is no separation between us and the earth. Without a healthy planet we cannot achieve health ourselves (just think about where the food we eat comes from). That’s why we are very passionate about making sure the things we do at Limber contribute positively to the health of our planet and our people in the long term.

From the beginning we have designed Limber products with sustainable principles at the centre of our process. We have designed them to stand the test of time and be simple to fix should that fail. We make them from materials and in ways that care for people and the planet. We use our purchasing power to ensure people are cared for throughout the supply chain and work for complete transparency of everything we use.

We’re working hard to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy and resource use globally, leaving our world better than we found it.

Caring for our natural world.

To make sure we have the least impact on the environment, we opted to craft our desks out of sustainably forested Nordic Birch wood from Finland. Not only it is beautiful, it is also a very strong wood that will withstand the test of time and forested under the strictest environmental standards.

Reducing Waste

At Limber we are on a mission to reduce both the energy required to make Limbers and the resources we use in the process. A big part of this is making sure nothing goes to waste. In 2020 we turned surplus nuts from the bolts that are used in Limber Desks into jewellery, through a collaboration with designer Larissa Banks.

We have a number of projects planned that will reduce our waste much further, sign up to our newsletter at the bottom of this page to stay tuned.

We're not perfect

We're not into the greenwashing game. The path to a sustainable future will be uncovered by us as a whole rather than any particular person or business going it alone.

So if you can help us with any of the below, we would love to hear from you!

We are looking for sustainable and transparent sourcing of :
- Steel, fixings and aluminium
- Caster wheels
- Knobs (screen attachment)
- Creative ways to turn wood offcuts into something useful (and fun!).

Supporting what matters

In support fo the School Strike For Climate we changed our website into an environmental and climate change education platform for the day of the 27th of September 2019.

“We have taken our website down today in support of the youth led climate strikes. Why? The earth is burning and improving people's health is not achievable with an unhealthy planet.

We support our government to make the courageous decisions required to create a world of increasing biodiversity, clean water and peace.”
